2006 Season - Week 23
A week is a long time with the BUMS
Attached is the favourite chart of the year giving a graphical view of your position in the league table each week. 4 people led the Premiership and 2 led the Conference during the season. How high did you fly- how low did you go?
All Time Leading Points Scorer
Last season Chief took away Johnny’s All-time leading regular season points scorer title but Johnny has taken it back after outscoring him by over 100 points. Chief maintains his lead as highest post-season scorer and the Official All-Time Leading Points scorer. Wayne remains the second highest annual average scorer with Mark third and Johnny fourth. Ron moves up 3 spots after his great Conference year and Rookie George entered in 7th. Look the proof is attached – I wouldn’t lie to you.
Franchise Players 2006-2007
As with last year I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June as any key Free Agency moves plus big draft signings will have an impact on your decisions. Free Agency begins in 2 weeks and current rumours include QB Jeff Garcia going to Chicago while the Giants & Jets could be interested in Bears RB Thomas Jones. What we do know is Brett Favre will be back in Green Bay for his 17th NFL season. In the draft CBS Sports suggests it’s a big year for receivers. We should look out for Dwayne Bowe (LSU), Ted Ginn Jnr (Ohio State), Dwayne Jarrett (USC), Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech), Robert Meacham (Tennessee), Sidney Rice (South Carolina) and TE’s Zach Miller (Arizona State) & Greg Olsen (Miami). Also QB’s Brady Quinn (Notre Dame) & JaMarcus Russell (LSU), and RB’s Marshawn Lynch (California) & Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) should go in Round 1.
BUMS on Seats
The NFL Draft is on the evening of Saturday April 28th and Sunday 29th. Hopefully it will be back live on TV again and we can get together to see the first round develop.
BUMS at Wembley
Over 500,000 tickets have been requested for the Giants/Dolphins game at Wembley in October. That’s 10 times the amount that will be available to UK fans so we may not all get in. If you want to go you’ve got until this Sunday midnight to register your interest at nfluk.com. Request as many as you can and then we can sort things out when the NFL allow us to buy our tickets, 2 weeks before the general public.
